Summer Bocce League Starts July 11
Our next Summer Leagues are starting July 11 and will be playing Mon, Tues or Weds. At 6:30 pm. There is only space for 8 teams each night so don’t wait too long to registers. Cost are $40.00 per person and you may register as a team of 4 to 6 or as an individual player and we can place you on a team needing players. Don’t forget to let us know what night you wish to play. This will be your last chance to play in a league this year so don’t be late getting registered if you want to play.
Those Teams already in our Spring League will have priority on which night they play if they register their team before June 30th. All League players will become members of the FLBA and will be eligible to enter into FLBA Events and Tourneys. FLBA members have priority on subbing for other teams. If FLBA Subs are not available, any adult 18+ may sub in for $5.00 per night. Please contact and pay the League Captain before you play.

Summer Bocce League Starts July 11

The Four Lakes Bocce Association has announced that it is accepting new Teams and individual players into the Adult Evening Summer Bocce Leagues starting Monday July 11th. Leagues will begin playing @ 6:30pm at the McFarland Bocce Complex on Marsh Road. Leagues will play on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday Evenings. You must be 18 y/o or over to play. Teams consist of 4 to 6 players and may be men, women or couples.
A fee of $40 per person will be charged for Teams of 4 to 6 players. Leagues will run for 8 weeks. Individual players may register for $40 and be placed on Teams needing players.

Payment Module Added
Attention League Players and FLBA Members
The FLBA website now has the capability to accept payment via PayPal for Team League payments and Permanent Sub payments. You will still have the option of sending a check but your signup will not be official until your check has been received and processed. Just click on the Icons on the front page to enter your payment and register your team.
You may also sign up and pay for your Anually FLBA Membership online via PayPal now. Just select the membership you want Regular $25, Senior $20 or Family $45.
Note the photo at the top. This is what the courts looked like this morning 4/19/2011. This week the temperatures are supposed to hover in the low to mid 30's except for Thursday which is supposed to be in the low 50's and Sunny. Good thing too, because the UW Mini Bocce Course is supposed to meet at the courts at 5:30pm. Bring your long johns.
Wisconsin Senior Games for Ages 50 and Over
Good Morning!
This is to let you know that McFarland will be hosting the Wisconsin Senior Games Bocce Tournament on Friday, June 10th, beginning at 9:30 am. (Rain date will be on Friday, June 17th.) More information will be forthcoming.

UW Mini Course - Bocce
Bocce is an ancient game and the second most popular sport in the world. Learn how to play this highly social game and experience the Joy of Bocce. We will cover some of the history of the game, how the game is played (on professional courts), and game strategy. Learn as you play using brand new oyster shell professional Bocce courts. Bocce is a great game, accessible to almost anyone (courts are wheel chair accessible). All you have to be able to do is roll a two pound ball up to 90 feet. Presented in cooperation with the Four Lakes Bocce Association. Class meets at the out door courts on Marsh Road in McFarland next to the Madison Curling Club. All equipment is provided. Alternate weather date is April 28th, no refunds for inability to attend weather date. 2 meetings. Instructors: Chuck Basford and Raul De Luna.

We have a Bocce tournament (fundraiser) scheduled Saturday April 30th: You are welcome to register in this tournament. It is the Saturday before FLBA league play. The particulars are listed below:

Bocce League Starts 1st Week of May
We are about to start our 2011 Bocce Season. The following is information that will help you prepare for this year.
1. There will be two Bocce sessions Spring and Fall.
Session 1 will begin Monday May 2 and end June 26
Session 2 will begin Sunday July 10 and end September 4.
2. A “playdown” will be held the week following each session to determine the winner of that session.
3. There is only one fee for each team. The fee for a team of 4-6 people will be $160.00/session. This works out to around $5.00/ evening/ player.
4. Three games are played per evening.
5. This is an adult league
6. Permanent Subs can register for $40 and can play any night on a team that needs a sub. Part time subs can pay $5.00/evening to play.
7. It is up to each team to decide how they will utilize players. If all 6 people want to play in an evening, the team will decide on how players will be rotated during the 3 games. (Grills are available for cooking for people sitting out a game).
8. You can sign up for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
9. Start time each evening is 6:00 PM. (3 games will usually take 11/2 hours.
If you have a team and want to play, there are two ways to register: 1) go to the web site (Team Captain Only) and register your team there. You may pay by credit card via PayPal or send a check made out to the FLBA for $160 and mail it to Chuck Basford, 5010 Black Walnut Dr, McFarland, WI 53558
or 2) send me an email with your Teams name, phone, email and I get them listed on the roster. I will still need to receive the check within 7 Days.
Be sure to tell me what your 1st night and 2nd night preference is.
