FLBA Board Meeting Notes

4/7/2011

5010 Black Walnut McFarland, WI

Attending: Chuck Basford, Bill Swanson, Fred Buhr, Sue Stenzel, Ryan Headley, Eric Witt, Helen Clafin

Absent: Arnie Gerber, Seth Tomlinson

Meeting started at 6:30 PM

1,) Agenda acceptance – motion was made to accept and was seconded and all agreed

2.) Secretary’s report – none, first meeting of the new board

3.) Treasurer’s report – none , most recent Treasurer report was just presented at the FLBA annual meeting.

4.) Election of Officers – Bill Swanson -  president, Chuck Basford – Treasurer, Erick Witt - secretary

5.) Old business:

a. UW Mini course for Bocce is scheduled for April 14 and April 21.  Chuck and Raul to run – they need some additional help.  Ryan offered to show up and help.  There is the possibility for a second session in July.

b. Liability / Officer Indemnification insurance, in addition to our regular insurance, was discussed. It would cost $480.  It was moved and seconded to pass on this additional insurance.  After discussion all agreed to the motion.  There was also discussion as to whether or not we actually needed waivers for all players.  Chuck was going to check with our insurance agent on this matter.

6.)  New Business:

a.) Committee appointments:  It was discussed what committees we will need – they are in the bylaws.  Tabled until the next board meeting, when we will do these assignments.

b.) Court rentals - Chuck 

      1.)  The nine week Leagues are $300/ court. Discussion was that each    league needs to have a league secretary that will get this info to their  league members and collect the money for that league.

Eric and Bill will put together a packet to give each league as to fees, scoring, etc.

     2.) Current court rental rate is $20/hr court.  It was discussed and agreed to keep the rate at $20 hr/ court.  Also agreed that we need to get this information out to the public,

Comprehensive Computer Consultants have rented the courts for April 26th – 4 courts 3 hrs - $240.00.

     3.) Waubesa Fun / Run – Chuck April 16 10 am – Noon. Money raised will be donated to FLBA.  Discussion was held on what FLBA’s actual involvement in the run should be.  We agreed to offer a free FLBA membership to any families that participated in the Fun Run.  Chuck is also going to check with other schools on like activities.

7.)  Next Meeting – it was agreed to meet again on Thursday April 21 at the same location.
